2020
The idea behind Solana already existed in 2017, but the cryptocurrency was only launched in 2020 after several investment rounds. On 11 April 2020, SOL was worth € 0.71. Until June, the exchange rate oscillated between €0.70 and € 0.75.
But things can go very quickly on the crypto market, and Solana is no exception. On 5 July, SOL was worth no more than € 0.61. Fast-forward to the end of August, and it had climbed to € 4. An increase of more than 500 per cent!
In retrospect, that was the time to sell in 2020, because from then on, things went downhill. The exchange rate plummeted to less than € 1 around Christmas. A nice Christmas gift, as 2021 would show.
