What does selling bitcoin mean?
Selling bitcoin means you convert your bitcoin into euros. You exchange your coins at the rate of that moment and the amount is credited to your bank account.
You never have to sell all your bitcoin at once. You sell exactly as much as you want, from as little as €30. The rest simply stays in your own wallet.
The bitcoin price is always moving, up and down. What you receive in euros depends on the rate at the moment you sell. You decide when that moment is.
Sell bitcoin in 3 steps
Create an account
Create a free account and verify your details.
Create an order and link your account
Go to the sell tab and enter your order amount, from €30. Click sell and link your payout method: your IBAN, your (credit) card or your PayPal account. You'll now see an estimate of your proceeds. Confirm it to create your order.
Send your coins and receive your payout
Send your bitcoin from your own wallet to the address we show you. As soon as we receive your coins, we send the money to your chosen payout method.
Selling from your own wallet
This is the biggest difference with many other platforms. On most exchanges you first have to send your bitcoin to their platform before you can sell. With us your bitcoin stays in your own wallet until the moment you actually sell. You are the owner of your coins: not your keys, not your coins. Want to sell? Then you send us exactly the amount you want to part with and leave the rest in your own wallet.
What does it cost to sell bitcoin?
When you place your order you'll see an estimate of what you'll get, based on the rate of that moment. The exact amount is set as soon as we receive your coins, because the rate can still move until then.
The price consists of two parts:
- the rate at which we take over your bitcoin
- the costs of BTC Direct
On top of that you pay network fees for sending your bitcoin to us.

How do you get your euros paid out?
You choose how you receive your euros. It always goes to an account in your own name and, with most methods, arrives shortly after your sale.

Bank transfer via SEPA to your own bank account.
Your own (credit) card
Payout directly to your own (credit) card.
Your own PayPal
Payout to your own PayPal account.
